Our professional, energetic guides will provide you with all the skills and thrills for an epic experience that will leave you grinning ear-to-ear. We ONLY offer small group tours, to maximize your experience. We have two different daily, e-mountain bike tours to offer based on your skills, bike experience and what you want to see on your tour.
TASTE OF THE TRAILS TOUR
Our most scenic, off the beaten path experience. An easy introduction to riding a pedal assist mountain bike on green rated single track, multi use trails and pathways in Banff National Park. This tour is suitable for beginner mountain bikers or intermediate riders looking for a fun, scenic tour of our favourite Banff mountain bike trails. You MUST know how to ride a bike comfortably in order to join this tour.
Experience level: Must know how to start and stop a bike independently, shift gears and apply brakes safely.
Fitness Level: Should be comfortable with a minimum of 2 hours of continuous cardiovascular activity (run/jog, bike, hike)
Terrain: A mix of green rated, multi-use trails, gravel pathways and off the beaten path roadways

AVERAGE SPEED: 12-15km/hour

ULTIMATE INTERMEDIATE TOUR
Our Intermediate e-bike tour featuring some of the best single track that Banff has to offer. This is the “Ultimate” Mountain -bike experience in the majestic Canadian Rocky Mountains of Banff, AB. This tour is suitable for experienced cyclists or beginner to intermediate riders looking for some more challenging terrain. An above average level of fitness and good cycling skills and or athleticism are required in order to take part in this tour.
Experience level: You own a bicycle of any kind and cycle on a somewhat regular basis – (whether that be commuting, weekend warrior or simply are known for taking on adventurous activities while on vacation)
Fitness Level: Should be comfortable with a minimum of 2 hours of continuous moderate cardiovascular activity (run/jog, bike, hike)
Terrain: After a short skill assessment on flat terrain, you will venture off on a mix of green and blue rated single track

What to bring for your mountain e-bike tour:
- A rainjacket – required!
- Flat soled shoes if you have them, runners will work!
- Full fingered gloves and protective eyewear (sunglasses or safety glasses)
- Helmets are mandatory and included in tour cost. Feel free to bring your own
- Dress in thin layers in order to be mobile and remove if necessary
- e-biking does not require as much effort as regular cycling, so layers are key!
- A backpack with water, snacks and room to store layers
- Chamois (aka padded bike shorts) if you have em!
Please note that safety is our first priority. If the guide believes your attire or fitness/skill level does not meet the requirements, or isn’t appropriate and compromises your safety, you may not be able to participate. How long is the tour?
Meet at 10:00am, get fitted on bikes and in helmets, safety briefing and away you go. Two hours of ride time for both The Taste of the Trails and the Ultimate Intermediate Mountain E-bike Tours.
Where do we meet?
Unless otherwise noted, our daily e-bike tours meet out front of Bear Street Outfitters - 203a Bear Street. For map, click HERE
Does Bikescape have a shop/storefront we can visit prior to the tour?
Nope! We have partnered with Snowtips-Bactrax and Bear Street Outfitters (both on Bear Street) to meet our guests for tours at their respected storefronts so that we can spend more time on the trail, less time in the office! Please give us a call or shoot us an email if you have any questions regarding our tours.
Where do I park?
There is complimentary parking on the 2nd and 3rd floor at the parking garage on Bear Street right beside Nesters Market. Should that be full, you can pay for parking downtown or utilize the free parking lot at the Banff Transit Hub - just a short 5 minute walk to Bear Street
What is e-mountain biking?
What is an electric mountain bike? Electric pedal assist mountain bikes, or e-MTBs, amplify the power you put into the bike while pedaling. When you stop pedaling, the motor stops assisting. You still have to earn your fun, but you get a better return on your energy investment. On our e-bike tours, we take you on a mix of multi-use trails, gravel pathways and single track trails.
What equipment is provided?
A helmet & electric (pedal assist) mountain bike are provided.
Do I need to have experience "mountain" biking?
Our Taste of the Trails tour is suitable for beginners. You should be comfortable riding some type of human-propelled, two-wheeled bicycle prior to taking this tour.
Our Intermediate Mountain Bike Tour is suitable for those very comfortable on a mountain bike or an equivalent type of human-propelled, two wheeled bicycle. For those who like some above average adventure on their vacation - this is the tour for you!
What should I wear/bring?
Please be prepared for the mountain weather, it changes quickly. A raincoat is mandatory as you never know when to expect a shower.
To ensure that you enjoy the tour, please wear/bring:

Is the tour canceled if it is raining?
We ride in all weather conditions, that said, thunder and lightning are not safe nor fun. In this case, we will assess the morning of and make a plan to reschedule if need be.
What is the cancellation policy?
Bookings are guaranteed once payment has been received. Cancellations for daily tours occurring more than 7 days prior to the session start date are 100% refundable minus a 5% admin fee. Cancellations for tours occurring less than 7 days but more than 48 hours prior to the session start date and time are 50% refundable minus a 5% admin fee. Cancellations for tours occurring less than 48 hours prio the tour start are non-refundable. Any cancellations based on weather conditions are at the sole discretion of Bikescape. If the tour is canceled by Bikescape, you will be issued a full refund of tour cost. Cancellation due to illness will be evaluated on a case by case basis.
Should I tip my guide?
Tips are not expected, but are certainly appreciated. If you think your guide did an exceptional job and would like to indicate that with a tip, it will be graciously accepted via cash or e-transfer (CAD) directly to your guide.
