About BikEscape

Our Mission (should you choose to accept it) is to provide the confidence and skills for a ridiculously fun, seriously safe, mind-blowing mountain bike adventure around the trails of the majestic Canadian Rockies.

Our certified instructors are passionate, local guides with extensive knowledge of the trail network. The BicyKids program is based on skills, safety, and smiles. Oh and snacks, who could forget snacks? Come ride bikes with us, we really do have ALL the fun!

Our goal is to be the leading local, authentic, all round mountain bike experience in the Bow Valley for riders of all ages and abilities. We strive to build a solid community of kids and adults celebrating their passion and confidence of riding mountain bikes.

Our Coaches

Ed Renzi

Assistant Coach
AKA Eddie the “Huck”ster Ed is an import from the east. He is our star Assistant Coach who simply loves to shred with an ear to ear grin on his face. He shows the kiddos how it’s done with style and flair while playing it safe. A real Mr. Fix it on the trail (hence why we are so happy to have him!) When Ed is not riding bikes, he is scheming up projects for Banff National Park’s own Bow Valley Mountain Bike Alliance (BVMBA). He has been instrumental in his dedication to the wicked awesome upgrades of the one of the local trails "Star Wars” and is really looking forward to working with Parks Canada on some new, rad upgrades to the rest of the trail network.

Clare McCann

Coach
Who dis?: Meet Coach Clare (aka Coach Ca-larios) as one of her students suggested. She is a lover of all things bikes. An import to the Canadian Rockies in 2006 from the east (but she doesn’t tell anyone that anymore) Like many, she came for the summer and never left. She started her cycling career in Jasper while working in hospitality. After taking a mountain bike skills session to work on her own skills, it was then and there she realized that this was her PASSION and she simply wanted to ride bikes ALL DAY LONG. Clare has been guiding all over North America and Coaching in the Bow Valley through local cycling club for the past 5 years. Now, due to COVID19, it’s time to venture out on her own to and offer her skills, training, enthusiasm and all round fun factor to all of you!

Introducing Coach Wayne! He has a lifelong passion for encouraging folks to become their best through active living. Along with his PMBIA Level 1 and NCCP mountain biking certifications, he has taught for the Rundle Mountain Cycling Club in the Spring/Summer of 2019. He is also a ski instructor at Lake Louise, an AFLCA certified spin instructor and has lead a variety of day camps for the City of Calgary in the past. As a born and raised Calgarian, Wayne has been very fortunate to call the Bow Valley his playground for all of his life. His love of mountain biking started when he bought his first Miyata MTB in 1988 and his bike count (currently 5) and his rides around the world (too many to count) have continued to grow. When Wayne is not teaching, he is leading His friends, kids and grandkids on numerous outdoor adventures. Wayne’s motto is: “Life is better on a bike.” Let’s get riding!
